This module allows the use of Voith-Schneider propellers with any DroneCAN compatible autopilot running Ardupilot or PX4 and can be configured using standard tools like QGroundControl or Mission Planner.
Multiple modules can be used on one bus allowing for 4 or even 6 VSPs.
It also allows to connect a vast selection of other peripherals to the Autopilot at the same time.
This propeller controller is built around CAN communication as its core feature. This means it relies primarily on Controller Area Network (CAN) to connect and communicate with other devices and sensors. Using CAN allows for reliable and efficient data exchange, even in complex networks. It also simplifies the vehicle’s wiring and makes debugging easier. A single VSP driver module can operate 2 Voith-Schneider propellers (4x servos, 2x ESC, 2x RPM sensors) and provides 8 more configurable auxiliary PWM outputs for servos. It can also serve as an interface for RC receivers, relaying signals to the autopilot with support for most common protocols including S-BUS. Additionally, a 6‑pin GNSS connector allows GNSS/GPS receivers to be routed to the autopilot, and a high-precision voltage sensor sends PWM pin voltage telemetry to the autopilot.

** In practice, actual service life can vary considerably depending on operating environment and usage. Especially harsh conditions—such as high humidity, salt exposure, temperature extremes, or mechanical stress—as well as incorrect installation or use outside specified parameters, can significantly reduce the expected lifetime. This also applies the other way around, in a good environment and low write cycles the lifetime can be much longer.
This product requires a complex configuration process with a prior use case planning, and is not plug-and-play by any means.
